Admin Guide
This page is a tour of the admin panel for the person responsible for the marketplace. It focuses on daily operations, not server setup.
Sign in and find your way
- Open
/adminand sign in with an administrator account. - The sidebar groups links by area: Dashboard, Users, Jobs, Projects, Orders, Financial, Content, Communication, Settings, and Plugins.
- Use the sidebar search to jump to a page by name.
- Links you do not have permission to use are hidden. Empty groups are hidden too.
If a link is missing, your role does not include that permission. Ask a super admin to grant it.
Dashboard
The dashboard summarizes the marketplace:
- Revenue by stream: orders, subscriptions, promotions, connects, and NDA fees.
- New users, jobs, projects, and orders.
- Pending approvals and pending withdrawals.
- Open support tickets.
- Recent activity.
Widgets are permission-aware. A support agent sees tickets without seeing revenue.
Users
Find a user
- Open Users and choose the role: freelancers, clients, or all.
- Search by name, email, or username.
- Use status filters for active, inactive, suspended, and unverified.
User details
The user page shows:
- Profile and contact details.
- Verification state.
- Wallet balance and history.
- Orders, proposals, and services.
- Devices and recent sign-ins.
- Suspension or freeze state.
- Admin notes.
Change status
- Open the user.
- Choose the status action.
- Enter a reason. The reason is sent to the user in-app and by email.
- Confirm.
Suspending a user can refund their active orders, depending on the option you choose. The action is recorded in the audit trail.
Bulk actions
- Select users with the checkboxes.
- Choose an action: verify, suspend, delete, or export email.
- Confirm.
Bulk actions run per user and report successes and failures separately. Deletion is permanent for identifying data; financial records remain.
Create a user
Administrators can create freelancer accounts even when public freelancer registration is disabled. This is how managed marketplaces onboard talent.
Impersonate
Choose Login as from the user list or user page to see the site as that user. A banner appears while impersonating. Sign out of the impersonated session to return to your admin account.
Roles and permissions
- Open Settings → Roles.
- Choose a role or create one.
- Tick the permissions the role should have.
- Save.
Permissions cover:
- Users and verification.
- Jobs, projects, and categories.
- Orders and refunds.
- Wallet, withdrawals, and invoices.
- Subscriptions and plans.
- Content and blog.
- Support tickets.
- Reports.
- Settings.
- Plugins.
- Security.
Grant the smallest set that lets a person do their job. A support agent rarely needs refund permission.
Listings and approvals
Approve or reject a job
- Open Jobs → Pending.
- Review the post.
- Choose Approve or Reject.
- If rejecting, enter a reason. The client is notified.
Approve or reject a service
- Open Projects → Pending.
- Review the service, packages, and images.
- Approve or reject with a reason.
Edits and deletions
Sites can require approval for edits, deletions, and job closures. When enabled, those actions enter a pending queue with a badge. Approve or reject from the same listing page.
Re-categorize a listing
- Open the job or service.
- Choose Change category.
- Pick the correct category and subcategory.
- Confirm.
Re-categorization does not change the listing's status or approval state. It is audited and notifies the owner.
Categories, subcategories, and skills
- Create, edit, reorder, and hide categories.
- Hiding a category hides its subcategories and removes them from public filters.
- CSV bulk import is available for categories, subcategories, and skills.
- Keep names consistent; duplicate categories split search results.
Orders
Review an order
The order page shows:
- Client, freelancer, service or job.
- Status, milestones, and delivery files.
- Payment status and amount.
- Commission.
- NDA state.
- Chat and support links.
Hold an order
Use Hold while investigating a dispute. Both parties see the hold and cannot submit or approve. Use Release hold to restore the previous status.
Refund or cancel
- Open the order.
- Choose Refund or Cancel.
- Choose the destination: wallet or original method.
- Enter a reason.
- Confirm.
Refunds create wallet history rows where the site supports them. Gateway refunds depend on the provider.
Manual payments
- Open Financial → Manual Payments.
- Match the receipt to the order or subscription.
- Approve or reject.
- Approval marks the record paid and fires the normal paid events.
Approve only after the money is confirmed in the site's account.
Money
Withdrawals
- Open Financial → Withdrawals.
- Review the request, method, fee, and destination.
- Approve, complete, or cancel.
- The user receives a notification at each step.
Check the destination details before approving. Withdrawals are hard to reverse.
Invoices
- Invoices are created automatically.
- Open an order or subscription to view or download the PDF.
- Configure company details under Settings → Invoice Settings.
- Choose whether clients see commission on invoices.
Tax
- Enable tax collection in the tax settings.
- Configure EU reverse charge and US state rules.
- Review freelancer tax profiles for missing VAT numbers.
- Tax is frozen on each order; correcting a profile does not rewrite history.
Currency
If the Currency Switcher plugin is active, manage currencies and rates under its admin page. Update rates on a schedule; stale rates cause incorrect display prices.
Subscriptions
- Open Subscriptions → Plans.
- Create or edit a plan.
- Set price, period, connects, project and order limits, commission, and boost cost.
- Choose which features the plan unlocks.
- Save and publish.
Review active subscriptions for expired plans and failed renewals. The site does not downgrade automatically; the user returns to free limits at expiry.
Plugins
- Open Plugin Manage.
- Review the list: slug, version, active state, and any problem.
- Upload a zip to install.
- Activate or deactivate with the toggle.
The uploader validates the plugin before activation:
- Manifest and entry file.
- PHP syntax.
- PHP and framework versions.
- Plugin dependencies.
- A sandboxed boot test.
Migrations run before activation. Caches clear automatically. Restart queue workers after a change.
If a plugin fails to activate
Read the error in the plugin list. Common causes:
- Missing dependency.
- Wrong PHP version.
- Syntax error.
- Entry class does not implement the plugin interface.
- Migration failure.
Fix the cause and try again. A broken plugin does not break the site; it stays inactive.
Security
Restricted words
- Open Security → Words.
- Add words or phrases.
- Choose the action: block, flag, or replace.
- Save.
Contact detection
The site can detect email addresses, URLs, phone numbers, and social handles in messages and listings. Choose whether to block, flag, or allow each type.
Violations
- Open Security → Violations.
- Review the retained item and the user.
- Choose an action: warn, freeze, or dismiss.
- Record the reason.
Violations stay in the queue until an administrator deletes them.
Freeze a user
- Open the user.
- Choose Freeze.
- Enter the reason and duration.
- Choose whether to notify the user.
- Confirm.
Freezes can expire automatically. Every freeze writes an audit entry.
Login and access controls
- Set lockout thresholds for failed sign-ins.
- Enable new-device alerts.
- Block disposable email domains.
- Restrict access by IP or country.
- Set rate limits for state-changing requests.
Test these rules on a staging site before enabling them in production. A wrong country rule can lock out your whole team.
Reports
The Reports plugin adds:
- Overview.
- Freelancers.
- Clients.
- Jobs.
- Projects.
- Orders.
- Earnings.
- Withdrawals.
- Subscriptions.
Use date presets and filters, then export. Reports read live data; a large date range can be slow.
Content and communication
Announcements
- Open Announcements.
- Create a bar or popup.
- Write the message and choose the audience.
- Set the start and end time.
- Publish.
Dismissal is stored per browser, so a user who dismisses an announcement does not see it again until you publish a new version.
Blog
Create categories and tags, then posts. Use a unique title and description. Check the post on mobile before publishing.
Email marketing
- Open Email Marketing.
- Choose a provider and enter credentials.
- Map lists and tags for signup and purchase events.
- Send a test.
- Enable sync.
If the provider rejects the credentials, the sync pauses and the error appears on the settings page.
Webhooks
- Open Webhooks.
- Add an endpoint URL and secret.
- Choose events.
- Send a test delivery.
- Check the delivery log.
The scheduler must run every minute for retries. Private and link-local addresses are blocked.
Settings worth reviewing after an upgrade
- Invoice company details and numbering.
- Tax collection, reverse charge, and state rules.
- Minimum job and project prices.
- Freelancer registration mode.
- Phone OTP and SMS provider.
- reCAPTCHA keys and switches.

- Spending visibility.
- Review moderation.
- Notification defaults.
- SEO defaults and robots.
- Currency rates.
- Subscription plan limits.

- Check manual payments.
- Read the violations queue.
- Reply to support tickets.
- Check the plugin list for problems.
- Check failed webhook deliveries.
- Review new users flagged by security.
