Integrations (Telegram)
The Telegram integration mirrors your chatbot conversations into a Telegram chat. Your team can watch every chat there and reply from Telegram to take over a conversation.
Open Integrations in the left-hand menu and choose the Telegram tab.
How it works
- Every visitor chat arrives as its own message in your Telegram chat.
- Reply to a chat's message and your reply goes to that visitor. The AI pauses so it does not talk over you.
- Only messages you send as a reply to a chat message are delivered. Replying to a random line does nothing.
Before you start
- In Telegram, open @BotFather and create a new bot.
- Copy the bot token it gives you.
- Send your new bot any message, then read your numeric chat ID from @userinfobot. A group ID looks like
-1001234567890.
Connect Telegram
- In HelpNest, open Integrations → Telegram.
- Paste the Bot token.
- Enter the Chat ID.
- Leave Send chats to Telegram ticked.
- Click Connect Telegram.
Saving registers the webhook URL with Telegram automatically — there is nothing to paste into Telegram.
Replying from Telegram
- Every visitor chat arrives in your Telegram chat as its own message thread.
- Reply to a chat message (not to a random line) to answer that visitor as a human.
- Your message reaches the visitor and the AI pauses for that conversation.
Warning
Telegram must be able to reach your site over the internet to deliver replies. On a local install, use a tunnel such as ngrok and paste the public URL again.
Manage the connection
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| Send test message | Posts a test message to confirm the bot and chat ID work. |
| Disconnect | Stops mirroring chats and stops Telegram replies from working. |
