  1. Enter a valid phone number including the country code (for example +8801XXXXXXXXX).
  2. Click Send Test SMS.
  3. Wait for the SMS to arrive (usually within 30 seconds).
  4. If received, your configuration is working — enable the triggers you need under SMS Notifications.
  5. If not received, work through the checklist below.

Troubleshooting

Test SMS not received?

  • Double-check the phone number format — include the country code (for example +8801XXXXXXXXX for Bangladesh, +1 for the US).
  • Verify API credentials against your provider's dashboard.
  • Confirm the provider is Activated (status shows after saving credentials).
  • Check that your provider account has sufficient balance or credit.

OTP SMS not arriving for customers?

  • Ensure the OTP Login toggle is ON (see Enable/Disable OTP).
  • Check that the customer's phone number is correctly formatted in their profile.
  • Verify your provider's sending limit has not been exceeded.

"Must use approved template" error (Msg91)?

  • Msg91 (India) requires DLT-registered templates. Use Get Templates to load your approved ones and select them for each trigger type. See Special Provider Notes.

SMS sent to the wrong number or with wrong content?

  • Check template variables — use @user_name, not {user_name} or similar variants. Variables are case-sensitive (see Message Templates).
  • Check that the correct template is selected for each trigger.

Admin not receiving notification SMS?

  • Ensure the Admin toggle for the relevant notification (new user, new order) is enabled.
  • Check that the admin phone number is set in the landlord or admin profile settings.

Provider suddenly stopped sending?

  • Check your account balance or credit with the provider.
  • Verify the API key has not expired or been rotated in the provider's dashboard.
  • Some providers require IP whitelisting — ensure your server IP is allowed.
