How It Works
Events
An event is simply "something that happened." You choose which events each webhook listens to. Common events include:
- A user registering or logging in.
- A job or project being created.
- A proposal being sent.
- An order being created, paid, or completed.
- A wallet deposit or a withdrawal request.
- A subscription being activated.
Dozens of events are available, grouped by area (users, jobs, projects, orders, wallet, subscriptions, and more).
What happens when an event fires
- The plugin prepares a message with the details of the event.
- It signs the message with your secret so the receiver can confirm it is genuine.
- It sends the message to the web address you configured.
- The result is written to the delivery log.
Retries
If a message cannot be delivered (for example the other system is down), the plugin retries it automatically a few times, waiting longer between each attempt. After the final attempt it is marked as failed in the log.
Security
- Messages are signed so the receiver can verify them.
- The plugin refuses to send to private or internal addresses by default, which protects your server.
- You should keep your secret private and only share it with the receiving system.
