The Affiliate Dashboard
Your existing users become affiliates from their own dashboard — they never touch the admin panel. The entry point is the Affiliate Earnings menu item in the user dashboard (the area a website owner or customer sees after logging in).
The page has two states: before the user joins, and after.
Before joining
A welcome card explains the program in three steps — get your referral link, share it everywhere, earn commissions — followed by a short registration form:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| First Name | Pre-filled from the user's account name. Required. |
| Last Name | Pre-filled. Required. |
| Company Name | Optional. |
| Country | Required. A dropdown of supported countries. |
| Payout Method | PayPal, Wise, Bank Transfer, Wire, or Not sure yet. |
Click Register as Affiliate. The plugin creates the partner in Tolt and stores a local copy, then shows the full dashboard.
A user can only register once. If the email is already an affiliate, the page shows a message instead of a second registration. If the program is not configured (no API key or program ID), the user sees a friendly "contact support" message rather than an error.
The referral link lands on your public homepage because that is where click tracking works. The dashboard itself is behind a login, and a login redirect would drop the referral parameter, so the tracking click would be lost. This is intentional — do not "fix" the link to point at the dashboard.
After joining
The dashboard shows:
Your referral link
A read-only field with the affiliate's unique tracking URL and a Copy Link button. For example:
https://your-domain.com/?ref=prt_123abc
The link uses your program's referral parameter (defaulting to ref). Below it, the card reminds the affiliate about sharing, and shows the cookie window in days so they know how long a click stays credited.
Stat cards
| Card | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Total Clicks | People who followed the referral link. |
| Leads | Visitors who signed up after a click. |
| Customers | Leads who became paying customers. |
| Total Earned | Commission earned so far, in the program currency. |
| Paid Out | Commission already paid. |
| Pending | Commission earned but not yet paid. |
Click and lead counts come live from Tolt; the money figures are summed locally from recorded commissions.
Profile and program details
Two side-by-side cards:
- Your Profile — name, email, company, partner status, payout method and the partner id.
- Program Details — program name, currency, cookie window, payout term and program status.
Conversion funnel
A single row that shows the funnel at a glance: Clicks → Leads → Paid Customers → Commission earned. This is the clearest view for an affiliate of how well their promotion is converting.
Recent commissions
A list of the affiliate's latest commissions, each showing the customer (name or email), the date, the amount and a coloured status badge:
| Badge | Status |
|---|---|
| Green | Paid |
| Blue | Approved |
| Amber | Pending |
| Red | Rejected |
When there are more than 10, a Load More button appends the next 10 without reloading the page. Before any sale, the panel shows an empty state: "Commissions will appear here once your referrals make a purchase."
Common questions
An affiliate says their referral link does not track.
Check that the public key is set and the Pixel Status card reads Active. Then confirm they are sharing the link exactly as shown, including the ?ref=... part.
Clicks are recorded but no commission. The visitor has to complete a paid purchase. A commission is reported only after the payment is marked complete. Also check whether the purchase happened inside the cookie window.
A commission has not appeared in the dashboard.
Run Sync Now on the Settings page, then reload. If it is still missing, review it under Affiliate (Tolt) → Commissions — it may be rejected or refunded.
