Phone verification

When phone verification is enabled, new users are asked to confirm their phone number before they can continue. They enter their number, receive a code by SMS, and enter it to verify.

OTP login

OTP login lets users sign in without a password. They enter their phone number, receive a one-time code, and enter it to sign in.

What users see

• A screen to enter and confirm their phone number.
• A "resend code" option.
• The ability to update the phone number if they made a mistake.

Good to know

• If the SMS plugin or provider settings are missing, verification does not lock users out — it simply does not enforce verification. Check your settings to make sure it is actually on.
• Keep an eye on your provider balance; running out of credits stops messages from sending.
