How to apply coupon codes at checkout.

Applying a Coupon

Step 1: Add Items to Cart

1. Browse projects, jobs, or services
2. Add items to your order
3. Proceed to checkout

Step 2: Enter Coupon Code

1. Locate the Coupon Code field
2. Enter your coupon code
3. Click Apply

Step 3: Verify Discount

1. Review the discount amount
2. Check the new total
3. Confirm the coupon applied correctly

Step 4: Complete Purchase

1. Select payment method
2. Complete payment
3. Coupon discount is applied

Coupon Field Location

The coupon field appears on:

• Project checkout page
• Job order page
• Subscription purchase page
• Promotion purchase page
• Connect purchase page

Validation

Real-Time Validation

When you enter a coupon code:

1. System validates the code
2. Checks expiration date
3. Verifies usage limits
4. Confirms scope match
5. Shows discount preview

Percent Discount

Order Total: $100
Coupon: 10% off
Max Discount: $20

Discount: min($100 × 10%, $20) = $10
Final Total: $90

Fixed Discount

Order Total: $100
Coupon: $15 off

Note: Final total cannot go below $0.

Redemption Tracking

After applying a coupon:

1. Redemption recorded in database
2. Usage count incremented
3. Per-user count updated
4. Transaction linked to order

Tips

• Check expiration — Verify coupon is still valid
• Meet minimum — Ensure order meets minimum requirement
• One per order — Only one coupon can be used per order
• No cash value — Coupons cannot be exchanged for cash
• Non-transferable — Coupons are tied to the using user
