Overview

CoinPayments is a cryptocurrency payment processor. With this gateway your clients can pay for orders using a range of cryptocurrencies.

How it works for the buyer

1. The buyer chooses the crypto option at checkout.
2. They pay the amount in the cryptocurrency they pick.
3. CoinPayments confirms the payment.
4. The order is marked paid automatically.

Where to find it

CoinPayment is configured from the main Admin → Payment Gateway Settings page, alongside your other gateways.

Requirements

• A CoinPayments merchant account.
• Your merchant ID and IPN (instant payment notification) secret from CoinPayments.
• A public web address so CoinPayments can confirm payments back to your site.

Things to keep in mind

• Crypto transactions have network fees and confirmation times that vary.
• The exchange rate can change between when the buyer sees the price and when they pay.
• Refunds are manual.
