Voice Notes

Users can record and send voice messages directly in the browser using the built-in voice recording feature.

How to Record

Starting a Recording

1. Click the microphone icon in the message input area
2. A recording bar appears with:
   • Pulsing red dot (recording indicator)
   • Timer showing duration (e.g., "0:05")
   • Animated wave bars
   • Cancel button
   • Send button

During Recording

• Speak into your microphone
• The timer counts up showing recording duration
• Wave bars animate to show audio levels
• Click Cancel to discard the recording

Sending the Recording

1. Click the send button (checkmark icon)
2. The recording is processed and sent as an audio file
3. The recipient sees an audio player they can play

• Browser-native — Uses MediaRecorder API, no plugins required

• Auto-send — Recording is automatically sent after stopping

Technical Requirements

• Browser permission — Microphone access must be granted
• Supported formats: WebM, MP4, OGG (browser-dependent)
• Modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari 14.5+
