How It Works
When a message appears
An announcement is shown on the front of your site when all of these are true:
- There is at least one announcement.
- Today is within the schedule you set.
- The visitor matches the audience you chose.
- The visitor has not dismissed it on their browser.
If any condition fails, nothing is shown.
Bar vs. pop-up
- Bar — a slim strip pinned to the top of the page. Good for short, low-pressure notices.
- Pop-up — a centered box with a close button. Good for a message you really want seen.
Dismissing
When a visitor closes an announcement, the choice is remembered on their own browser. They will not see that same message again. Publishing a new announcement treats it as a fresh message, so it is shown again.
A quick tip
Use the bar for routine notices and reserve the pop-up for things that matter. Too many pop-ups can annoy visitors and reduce orders.
