How It Works

Affiliate Registration

1. User navigates to Dashboard > Affiliate
2. Clicks Apply to Become an Affiliate
3. Application is submitted for admin review
4. Admin approves or rejects the application
5. Once approved, user receives their unique affiliate code

Sharing Referral Links

Affiliates can share their referral link in two formats:

Direct Link

https://yoursite.com/affiliate/AFF-O8K-3A9X2F

Query Parameter

https://yoursite.com?aff=AFF-O8K-3A9X2F

Both methods set a tracking cookie and session for attribution.

Tracking Process

Step 1: Visitor Clicks Link

When a visitor clicks an affiliate link:

1. The affiliate code is validated
2. A cookie named affiliate_ref is set (default: 30 days)
3. The visitor is redirected to the homepage
4. The session also stores the referral code

Step 2: Conversion Event

When a qualifying action occurs:

1. System checks for affiliate cookie/session
2. Validates the affiliate code
3. Checks for self-referral (affiliate can't refer themselves)
4. Checks for duplicate conversion
5. Records the conversion with pending status

Step 3: Admin Approval

All conversions start as pending:

1. Admin reviews conversions in Affiliate Marketing > Conversions
2. Admin approves or rejects each conversion
3. Approved conversions are credited to affiliate's wallet
4. Affiliate receives the commission

Commission Calculation

Signup Bonus

• Fixed amount set by admin
• Awarded once per referred user signup

Login Bonus

• Fixed amount set by admin
• Awarded once per referred user login

Hire Commission

• Percentage of order value
• Capped by maximum commission limit (if set)
• Example: 5% commission on $100 order = $5

Self-Referral Prevention

Affiliates cannot earn commissions from their own activities:

• Cannot refer themselves for signup
• Cannot earn from their own logins
• Cannot earn from their own orders

Duplicate Prevention

Each conversion type uses a unique reference key:

• Signup: user_id
• Login: login:user_id
• Hire: order_id

This prevents double-crediting for the same event.

Wallet Credit

When a conversion is approved:

1. Status changes from pending to approved
2. Commission amount is credited to affiliate's wallet
3. Transaction is recorded with payment_gateway = 'affiliate'
4. Affiliate can withdraw or use wallet balance
